Chandigarh, which owes its name to a temple of the Hindu Goddess Chandi, has turned out to be one of the boldest experiments in architecture and town planning. It was designed by world famous Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier along with his team of archietects Pierre Jeanneret, Maxwell Fry and Jane Dres. It is often called the Mecca of Modern Architecture.
It is about 250 Kms north of New Delhi, the capital of India. It is well connected by rail, road and air from all parts of India and abroad.
